"Spring", a solo show by Shamsah Khalid

This is Shamsa Khalid's first solo exhibition. Ms. Khalid is an Emirati artist whose work draws from anime, gaming, and other contemporary sources. This exhibition features over twenty original drawings, and four animations, all revolving around the character Spring Criss, which is the inspiration for this body of work. The freshly drawn character illustrations highlight various moments in Shamsa's life, and are a quite autobiographical account of the artist's personal history. The characters, part human, and part mythical creature, really provide an insight into the imagination of the artist, and how fantasy is weaved with reality.
